MECE6361 Mechanical Mater

Learning Objectives:

The goal of the course is to provide the fundamental and advanced concepts in mechanical behaviors of engineering materials, mainly for structural applications.
The objectives are to learn (1) the relationship between stress and strain during elastic and plastic deformations, (2) how crystalline defects affect the mechanical properties of materials, and (3) different testing methods to analyze deformation and fracture behaviors.

Course Topics:

  • Mechanical Fundamentals (Mathematical framework)
    • Stress and Strain Relationships for Elastic Behavior
